HOK appoints new head of science and technology

Colin Gilmore-Merchant has joined international design practice, HOK as Head of Science and Technology. In his new role he will lead HOK’s Science and Technology group helping to ensure it can maximise upon its market leading position in this knowledge-based sector.

Gilmore-Merchant, former managing director of Alsop Design Limited, joins HOK and brings his extensive knowledge of the Science and Technology market. Gilmore-Merchant has led a number of landmark projects for pharmaceutical companies and research institutes including managing the design and delivery of the 9000 m² School of Medicine and Dentistry for Queen Mary College University of London in Whitechapel, London.

HOK is working on a number of significant Science and Technology projects including: The UK Centre for Medical Research & Innovation (UKCMRI), King Abdullah University of Science & Technology, Saudi Arabia and The Centre for Physical and Computational Sciences at the University of Chicago – Chicago, Illinois, USA.
