Halliday Clark reveal £80,000 system-built home

Bradford-based architect Halliday Clark has unveiled this £80,000 system-built three-storey house prototype

The first three-bedroom home, which will use prefabricated laminated timber wall panels and be clad in larch, has already been earmarked for a site in Woodseats, Sheffield.

The practice and client are now looking to set up a joint-venture arrangement to roll-out the design for housing associations and other private housing developers.

Practice founder Adam Clark said: ‘The scheme has been designed to be equally at home as a terraced, semi-detached or detached dwelling and is aiming for between Codes 3 and 4 for sustainable dwellings.

‘The house will incorporate a home office on the ground floor, together with a roof deck at third-floor level.’
