Insulated Daylighting
One of Europe’s latest projects to use innovative Nanogel® aerogel is the three storey Pearse Street Primary Care Centre recently opened in Dublin, designed by architects A&D Wejchert & Partners. The airtight Kalwall+ Nanogel daylighting system diffuses natural daylight, without shadows or glare or solar control.
Nanogel within the panels gives a U value of 0.28 - equivalent to a solid wall - reducing energy and running costs. Nanogel is based on translucent silica aerogel, the world’s most insulating solid which comprises up to 90% air. Here, the system includes new highly efficient Kalwall Eurowindow vision panels to facilitate views, optional ventilation and privacy.
