ONE PRIZE 2013, an annual science and design award to promote green design in cities has opened for entries
This year’s ONE PRIZE competition entitled STORMPROOF asks ‘how can cities adapt to the future challenges of extreme weather?’
The international prize is looking for proposals that ‘reinvigorate infrastructure and repourpose spaces towards environmental adaptation’. These could include protective green spaces, barrier shorelines, alternative housing, waterproofing technology, and public space solutions.
ONE Prize seeks entries from architects, landscape architects, urban designers, planners, engineers, scientists, artists, and students.
The winning entry will receive $5,000, and there will be a prize of $2,000 for the second place and $1,000 for the third place.
Early registration for the competition closes on 30 June.
The competition deadline is the 31 August and a winner will be announced in October 2013.
