Liz Ogbu is currently serving as the Scholar in Residence at the Center for Art and Public Life, California College of the Arts. Here, she will be giving a talk on design for reuse, sustainability, human-centred design and innovative urbanism, exploring the intersection between social issues and design, and engaging it in practice.

At this event architects and engineers involved in the construction of some of London 2012’s permanent venues will come together to discuss their success, as part of a series of talks to accompany the We Made 2012 exhibition.
The GrowUp Box

Where The Marlborough Playground, Southwark, London
The GrowUp Box is an upcycled shipping container with a greenhouse on top which is a productive demonstration of aquaponic urban farming. It has been installed at a playground in Southwark for the summer.

The Centre for Alternative Technology has launched its third Zero Carbon Britain report. The last report launched in 2010, and since then the economic situation has worsened, negotiations on climate change have stalled, and the need for mitigation is becoming a more pressing issue. The updated report calls for strategic thinking to ‘avoid panicked choices that will lock the UK into a problematic energy path for the future’.
