Roots Architecture Workshop returns to WOMAD Festival

World of Music, Arts and Dance festival welcomes back Tangentfield’s Roots Architecture Workshop to celebrate humanitarian and emergency shelter projects across the globe. For the third year running, specialists from the fields of green building, low-tech construction and environmentally conscious engineering invite people to join the four day event.

Participants, guided by experienced specialists, will learn and improve their design and construction skills - a group from RAW #2 went on to work building a cinnamon factory in Sumatra.

The workshop team will approach four design stages culminating in the ‘Sunday Spectacular’ finale, where live performances will be hosted in the structures created. Themes of sustainability and resourcefulness underpin the workshop: all materials are reclaimed, re-useable or sourced from the park and energy will be provided by pedal power.

Sessions run until 4:30pm, leaving evenings free to soak in the vibrant music and cultures of WOMAD.
