Reader Offer - Discounted BSRIA course 'Introduction to BIM'
25% discount for AJ readers
Introduction to BIM – launching 24th July 2012 9am at BSRIA’s Bracknell Office.
Interest around BIM is gathering pace, driven by the Government’s requirement for Level 2 BIM to be used on all of its capital projects by 2016.
This new one-day course will give delegates a clear understanding of what BIM is, how it works, the UK’s Government’s strategy and what it means for construction projects.
BIM can be a mechanism to make high quality information about the asset available from design through to operation, enabling better decisions to be made during procurement, and providing an improved level of data to the FM team.
This course will be of interest to anyone who wants to benefit from the advantages of using a BIM process. See here for more course information.
Course aims:
· To provide a basic understanding of what BIM is
· To help delegates appreciate where BIM fits in with their working practices, and what they need to do to meet the BIM objectives on projects
Lecturer:
John Sands has recently joined BSRIA’s Sustainable Buildings Group as a Principal Consultant to drive the development of BIM within BSRIA, to help industry understand the principles and practices which define BIM, and give support in making best use of this in their everyday operations via the BIM Centre, a joint venture with BRE which will be launched shortly, and the BSRIA BIM Network group.
