Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios wins planning for Manchester student hub

Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios has received the go-ahead for this £65 million new business school and student hub in Manchester

The practice landed the 20,000 sq m project, which will sit on Manchester Metropolitan University’s All Saints Campus, following a competition in December 2007.

According to the practice, ‘The design is highly flexible and transparen with column-free floorplates of lecture theatres, seminar rooms, as well as administrative and academic offices flank two large atria’.

Various ‘zones’ will break out from the formal teaching and learning areas across ‘wide bridges, open platforms and floating transparent rooms’.

The project is due to start on site later this year and complete in 2011.
