Exposing the bookies

What’s happening at William Hill? They are showing behaviour that is quite un-bookie-like. For example, they apparently don’t know when the Stirling Prize winner’s being decided. As one press officer admitted, that research omission would ‘expose’ the firm to heavy losses if there’s any insider trading. No sh*t. If some junior bookmaker made a similar mistake on the outcome of a general election – ‘when’s the voting?’ – then such companies could go belly-up. Come on kids. Don’t let us down. You should know that the winner of the £20k cheque isn’t decided until the night. There’s not even a chance of some insider betting. However Astragal is a little tempted to have a flutter on Ricky Rogers’ Barajas Airport. At 9–2, it seems a good opportunity to take home some easy money.
