The Royal Observatory, Greenwich, London
The project connects the whole Royal Observatory site together providing new external spaces around the buildings and step-free access throughout. the listed South Building is radically altered to reestablish its place as a centre for modern astronomy. At its heart a new 3 storey helical staircase constructed as a single steel surface replaces the huge solid nineteenth Century brick Core.
