AJ100 Client of the year - 2013

Winner: Argent - Nominated by the AJ100 practices, Client of the Year is awarded to a client that has made the greatest contribution to UK architecture over the year

In a strong shortlist, dominated by heavy-hitting developers, Argent was the clear winner. It’s the powerhouse behind one of Europe’s biggest urban regeneration projects at King’s Cross, the location of John McAslan + Partners’ soaring station for Network Rail. Argent stands out for its transformational work here. It is no coincidence that Stanton Williams’ award-winning arts campus building for Central Saint Martins is part of this massive urban renewal. We asked all AJ100 practices to nominate their favourite client for this award and they came back with resounding support. Argent ‘values dialogue’ and shows ‘a genuine commitment to raising the benchmark,’ says one practice. It is a client which ‘enables us to do our best work’, comments another.
