The project presents a very exciting opportunity to be involved in the design and phased reconstruction of one of London's highest profile public spaces. With it's prominent riverfront location, the World Heritage Site currently serves nine million visitors annually. The Cutty Sark will reopen in 2010, and in 2012 Greenwich will be hosting key Olympic events - factors which will further increase visitor numbers. The ambition of the project is to create a world class public space, and as such a talented and innovative design team is being sought to deliver this vision. The winning team will be responsible for delivering the £2.4million project from RIBA work stages C to E.
The project is being led by LB Greenwich (contact details of overseeing officer, Mike Neil are included below) with Design for London forming part of the selection panel.
