West Coast Modern: Arts and Architecture magazine in pictures

Arts and Architecture 1945-54: The Complete Reprint, a newly-released Taschen boxset brings together facsimiles of 10 years of the Californian magazine that documented the West Coast Modern movement.

Not content with merely documenting the scene, the magazine instigated the Case Study House Program, a canonical set of house designs by architects including Charles and Ray Eames, Pierre Koenig and Eero Saarinen. See AJ 23.10.08, published 23 October, for Steve Parnell's review of the boxset.
