Urban flower

Astragal has a stalker. Actually, more just a stalk. Over the last few months, wherever architecture’s favourite bon viveur has been stumbling the streets, Laurie Chetwood’s unmissable Urban Oasis has been spotted too. From the architect-choked streets of Clerkenwell, the politician-clogged squares of Manchester or the sun-drenched boulevards of Cannes, the sprouting, purple eco-flower thing hasn’t been far behind. At least the 12m-high sculpture has had the decency to let Astragal know of its next move – it’ll be a ‘highlight’ at next month’s Chelsea Flower Show. Enjoy yourself Mr Titchmarsh.
