The spice is right

Astragal was suitably wined and dined last night at RMJM’s lavish bash at the Design Museum, a party to mark the practice’s 50th anniversary and a new book produced for the occasion. Skulking around the party, mingling with the likes of Paul Stallan and Tony Kettle, Astragal spotted our old friend Deyan Sudjic, who was muttering to anyone who’d listen about the Polish competition he helped to bring down earlier this year. However, the most memorable thing about the evening was the free cocktails. Astragal’s personal favourite was called something like a ‘Golden Spice’, which was, quite frankly, lethal. Two shots of vodka, two of Bacardi, a limited spurt of ginger beer and a dash of angostura bitters. Believe Astragal when he tells you, more than three of these and you really feel it. Eek. Time for the recovery room, I think.
