Astragal received a interesting request from a small independent publisher in the US, which is working on a biography of Jane Jacobs.

The Yanks were keen to use a photo of 'an animated Jacobs conversing in a pub', which appeared in the AJ in 1963. However, there was one proviso – the killjoy Americans also added: 'We would also like to know if it would be possible to crop the picture as we would want to eliminate the cigarette in Jacobs' hand.'
