Rugging lovely – 20.09.07

Someone in Iran must be keeping an eye on the ramblings of Astragal. Shortly after his little vignette about Cezary Bednarski and the Persian rug appeared (Astragal 24.08.07), Amin Taha, shortlisted for the same Iranian bridge competition, was the recipient of a large and heavy package. A quick scan of the internet revealed the 5’ x 7’ rug was worth around a grand – ‘or enough for the team to have a slap up at Gordon Ramsey’s’. Unfortunately the nuclear sabre rattling between Iran and the UN has made it ‘unwise’ for the client to appoint a UK-based architect and that, my friend, is apparently that.
