Grace Jones - misconceptions - Wired in Japan - solid site - flat speed bumps

Grace Jones
The ideal present for designer friends: an image of Grace Jones, heroine of the Minimalists. What's special about that? What's special is Diva Jones, full size, 3-D and in chocolate. By the Tom Hingston Studio. Click on Recent Work. And then Next.

Thomas Crapper did not invent the toilet and Napoleon (pictured) was above average height. These and other interesting facts on the Wikipedia page dispelling common misconceptions.

Wired in Japan
Watch a video of Daito Manabe, a Japanese artist and programmer, wire himself up to his own compositions: 'Electric stimulus to face - test 3'.

Solid site
Steve Krug's Don't Make Me Think is the bible among pro web designers. It's a book which amateur architectural web-makers need to read – before they redesign their sites. Squire and Partners architects have a website which Krug would really like. It helps that they're big on real buildings.

Flat speed bumps
Urge these on your local council: speed sensitive sleeping policemen which temporarily collapse if you are doing a legal mph. They are designed to minimise damage to low slung luxury speedsters but cannot so far detect the price of an oncoming car.
