What’s happening at William Hill? They are showing behaviour that is quite un-bookie-like. For example, they apparently don’t know when the Stirling Prize winner’s being decided. As one press officer admitted, that research omission would ‘expose’ the firm to heavy losses if there’s any insider trading. No sh*t. If some junior bookmaker made a similar mistake on the outcome of a general election – ‘when’s the voting?’ – then such companies could go belly-up. Come on ...
