WHO’S READING WHAT?
The AJ made a big splash with the Women in Practice issue with more than 50 interviews with female practitioners from Alison Brooks through Farshid Moussavi to Zaha Hadid, plus the full results of the AJ Women in Architecture survey. Extra profiles followed online and an extensive debate followed on Twitter (#WIA), Linked In and Facebook.
This issue is now free to read here.
The front cover of the magazine, featuring Barbie as an architect, proved controversial. Editor Christine Murray’s post to explain ‘Why we put Barbie on the cover’ was read by more than 1,800 people.
Women in Architecture now moves on to an awards programme and networking lunch, with guest speaker Richard Rogers.
- Every AJ from January, February, March and April is now available to subscribers as a digital edition.
- All AJ news stories and building studies are Tweeted the minute they are published at twitter.com/architectsjrnal.

The AJ now has a group on LinkedIn to answer your questions about the magazine directly - AJ editor Christine Murray monitors the group daily and will respond to your points.
On the subject of comments, several readers have complained that the ability to leave anonymous comments on the AJ site has on occasion led to too many aggressive opinions on the site. We agree, and from now on all comments will be accompanied by the author’s name.
AJ READERS CLUB

AJ subscribers have exclusive access to a number of promotions.
This month: AJ sustainability blog Footprint is offering three free copies of Lanform Building: Architecture’s New Terrain.
AJ BUILDINGS LIBRARY

The AJ Buildings Library is a digital database that showcases hundreds of exemplar projects, most from the last 20 years but including major projects back to 1900. All AJ subscribers now have full access to the Library.
CORRECTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS
The AJ doesn’t get everything right first time. In AJ22.03.12 the section accompanying the story Union wharf scheme wins planning was wrongly credited to Henley Halebrown Rorrison.
CUSTOMER SERVICES
Customer Service manager Struan Rae says: ‘The main reason for subscribers contacting us recently has been activating their online accounts. So, here are a few simple pointers:
- Online accounts can only be activated with the details of the named subscriber
- If you need to change your password, you can do in My Account then Account Settings
- If you ever forget your password, there is a reminder button at the sign in page
‘A number of people have also reported that they repeatedly have to sign-in on the AJ site. You’ll be pleased to know that the technical issue we were experiencing has now been fixed and this should no longer happen.’
If you do ever need help, you can contact Struan and our customer services team on:
