Windermere Steamboat Museum, the Lake District

[The deadline for expressions of interest is 4 August] The RIBA has launched a design competition for the redevelopment of the Windermere Steamboat Museum in the Lake District National Park

In October 2009, an earlier OJEU-led contest to design a £24.7 million visitor centre for the museum collapsed due to a funding shortage.

Expressions of interest are now sought from architect-led design teams interested in taking part in the £5 million contest which is being run for museum owner Lakeland Arts Trust.
