Why Stop Competition, Massachusetts
[Submissions must be made by 16 September] Architects and Urban Designers are invited to visualize new destinations along Massachusetts’ proposed South Coast Rail extension in the United States
This international competition requests designers to devise concepts for new sites and functions along the proposed line connecting Boston to Taunton, New Bedford, and Fall River.
Four options are outlined on how to approach the brief. These are: developing a concept for the end of the line station in New Bedford, develop a concept for the opposing terminal station at Fall River, a landscape orientated view looking to the surrounding wetlands, or an open approach defined by the entrant.
The winner will receive a cash prize and present their proposal to the jury along with a government leader and developers in Boston on 20 October.
