UK submissions sought for £15,000 Old Doha Prize

The British Council is now accepting architects for their ‘Old Doha Prize’ as part of the Qatar UK 2013 Year of Culture.

Five teams will be selected for a seven day design charette to be held in Qatar’s capital city Doha beginning 17 November.

Teams will be selected based on their qualifications and previous works, quality of contextual design response, drawings and visual presentation material and a written statement.

A chance to ‘research and explore’ new solutions for the future of Old Doha, teams will collaborate with Qatari counterparts to merge local heritage with their proposals.

The winning team will be awarded a £15,000 grant to implement its scheme.

Entrants must have at least two years post-qualification experience with submissions to be made through the dedicated page by 30 August in English.
