Tate St Ives extension, Cornwall

[Expressions of interest must be received by 10 November 2011] The Tate St Ives Gallery in Cornwall is seeking an architect for a 900m² extension

Architects services from RIBA Stage A to L are required by the newly retendered design contract. The construction budget is £7,500,000.

Set to house new gallery spaces, a loading bay and art handling facilities; the extension will also add flexible office space and new public areas to the building. The project aims to increase visitor numbers which have already reached three times the original footfall estimate for the gallery.

Originally won six years ago by Jamie Fobert Architects, the contest has been relaunched following a change in site. The new location is currently being approved by Cornwall Council.

The renovation of the existing building may be added to the services required, or may be released to tender at a later date.
