Sydney launches $25 million library competition

Australia’s capital Sydney has opened a $25 million competition to design and build a new library inside the city’s ‘Green Square’ development

The contest has been launched as part of the Sydney’s Green Square project covering 278 hectares of south of the city which is expected to accommodate 40,000 people.

The 3,000m² library project will be accompanied by a $15 million public plaza.

Mayor Clover Moore said:‘City of Sydney projects are world renowned for design excellence, innovation and environmental sustainability. We hope architects from around Sydney, Australia and the world will be inspired to work with the City of Sydney.’
