Student ideas sought for Aurora Borealis observatory

[Registration must be completed by 18 March] Students have been invited to submit ideas for a small hotel and observatory on the edge of the Arctic Circle

Open to current students and recent graduates, the competition seeks 800m² schemes combining a tourist attraction with a hotel and observatory capable of viewing the northern lights.

The competition brief features a full list of room requirements and sizes.

Proposals must take account of local conditions, including the area’s low temperature of -30 degree Celsius and snow which falls on average 183 days a year.

A prize fund of £4,100 will be divided between the top three entries.
