Stevenage open innovation BioScience Park: Phase 1

Architectural services taking work on Stevanage’s Open Innovation BioScience Park from masterplan to RIBA stage D

The contracting authority is seeking to procure the appointment of a multi-discipline design service for the design of Phase 1 of a BioScience Research Park. The scope of service includes architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, public health, electrical engineering and quantity surveying services, together with any additional specialist resources required to meet the objectives of the contract.

The design is to be progressed from the completed masterplan up to the equivalent of RIBA stage D, including the production of Employer’s Requirements and associated tender documentation, on an anticipated basis of a two stage design & build procurement route but this has yet to be confirmed.

In addition it is envisaged that the contract will provide design & technical support to the Contracting Authority during detailed design and construction of the proposed works but the Contracting Authority reserves the right to not extend the appointment in relation to these services.

The terms of the contract will be the NEC Professional Services Contract Option E, including client amendments. Further details are included in the pre-qualification questionnaire.

Total quantity or scope:
The approximate construction cost for the work in relation to which the services are required is work is estimated as being in the region of £22million.
