[Entries to be submitted by 15 March] The remote island of St Helena has launched a housing design contest open to newly qualified architects
Architects with less than five years in practice are sought to design a housing scheme with a budget of £400,000 for the South Atlantic Island.
Awards of £9,000 have been announced. The entries will be exhibited in April, with the contract due to be awarded in May.
The criteria include the originality of design, use of local materials and tradesmen, design flexibility and site energy consumption.
