Slovakian city searches for architects for new ideas contest

The City of Trenčín in Slovakia has announced an ideas contest intended to connect the city centre and its riverfront

The city has plans to relocate railway lines inside the city centre by 2016, and are calling for ideas to bypass any potential ‘transport barriers’ between the centre and the nearby waterfront.

The winning scheme will form the beginnings of a masterplan for the area.

Registration is mandatory to view contest documents which are available in English through the contest page.

The deadline for submissions is 24 April with winners announced 19 May 2014.
