The station is anticipated to have 100,000 passengers a day by 2020 and forms part of the Teleport Amsterdam multifunctional office area. The current situation is increasingly complex and unsafe for both travellers and drivers, with inadequate facilities for buses and trams. The intention is to improve the main entrance and bus and tram links, as well as improving the general functionality, liveliness and attractiveness of the station.
