Silverman Architectural Competition, New York City

[Some entries must be received by 16 September] Developer Silverman has launched an international competition for a trio of sites across New York City.

Residential schemes are sought for each of the three sites; though varying briefs and regional requirements call for three individual responses.

The site at 8 Erie Street calls for a residential building to accommodate 50 homes, a reception, lobby and parking inside a former NY Telephone Exchange.

Hamilton Square South is a 20,600 ft² site which has been outlined for a mixed use development with ground floor commercial spaces supporting housing above.

Downtown Montgomery Grove has been put forward as the site of this competition’s largest project. Due to rise approximately 12 floors and capitalizing on the New York harbor view to the East and South, all schemes must consider the local historical park district in designing the street facing aesthetics.

A $3,250 prize fund is available for each site’s winning entrant; a possible contract to build their winning proposal is also outlined in this competition’s brief.
