‘Signature architect’ sought for Ireland's Curragh Racecourse

[Responses are due 4 July] A competition has been launched to find a ‘signature architect’ to redevelop Ireland’s Curragh Racecourse

Six long-listed practices will receive £6,800 each to work up outline ‘vision’ proposals for an ‘exemplary, innovative and striking design’.

A three-strong shortlist will later receive £25,000 each to submit concept designs. The winner will be awarded the contract.

Home of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, the famous course was first used for racing in 1727 with the Curragh plains surrounding the venue currently classed as a monument under the National Monuments Act.

Responses are due 4 July with qualication questionnaires are available from the dedicated page.
