RIBA seeks architects for Shanghai windows installations

The RIBA has announced an open call for architects to design installations for shops and restaurants in Shanghai next year

The project – now in its third year – is open to all RIBA members and promises selected participants ‘experience and extensive brand exposure’ in China.

Carl Turner, UN Studio and NEX were among ten London-based studios who worked with fashion brands, retailers and restaurants to create installations in the city’s Xintiandi shopping district this year.

RIBA London director Tamsie Thomson said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to gain profile, experience and a track record of working in China. We are now looking for ten RIBA architects to join us for the next edition of the project, which will be installed in April 2015.’

Architects chosen for the project will be invited to take part in a research trip in November and also to oversee the installation of their projects in April next year.

The deadline for applications is 5 September.
