Reimagining New York's waterfront

[Submissions must be received by 15 January 2012] The CIVITAS Group has launched an ideas contest seeking architectural concepts for New York’s east side waterfront park

The site is located between 60th Street north and 125th Street and the competition brief calls for new structures, landscaping and better access to the park.

The contest is part of a bid to increase waterfront access and boost day time and evening use.

Schemes should meet local requirements such as the ADA code (although compliance at the detail scale is not necessary).

A prize fund of $10,000 will be split between the top three entrants. Leading entries will be used to generate publicity for the area and are expected to influence the final design.
