Peabody launches hunt for architect to design 150 east London homes
[Expressions of interest must be received by 5 March] Commemorating its 150th year, the Peabody housing trust has launched a two-stage competition to design 150–200 new homes on a brownfield site in east London
The contest is open to students and practices of all sizes.
Shortlisted teams will be invited to submit fee bids for the £500,000 commission and the winning team will develop the design to a planning application.
Students and any other entrants who fall short of the contest’s qualification criteria will be entered into a parallel contest with a cash prize award.
This year the trust is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its foundationn by George Peabody (pictured) in 1862.
Expressions of interest must be received by 5 March
An exhibition of entries will be shown in May
