Notodden cultural centre, Norway
Notodden prides itself on being Norway’s blues capital. It’s launched a design contest for premises for a rallying point for blues and other activities in the town that ‘shall sizzle with activity in all corners and at all hours’
The Norwegian Notodden has already marked itself as Norway’s blues capital. The requirement for suitable premises both in connection with blues and as a rallying point for other cultural activities in Notodden has been requested for a long time.
The building shall work as a user house which shall sizzle with activity in all corners and at all hours. It shall not be considered as a ‘posh house’. The town’s best site is put at disposal in order to establish a pronounced building for all of the town’s inhabitants and visitors.
It is also a request that the house shall set its mark outside the municipal border. It is essential that the interaction between framework conditions, surroundings, the town in general and architecture is safeguarded in the project.’
Answers to questions will be available at www.notodden.kommune.no until 24.3.2010.
Time-limit for receipt of projects or requests to participate: 16.4.10, 12:00.
The project proposals shall be marked “Bok- og Blueshus Notodden” as well as the motto of the proposal. In order to be accepted for participation, the design contest proposal must be delivered directly to Notodden municipality within 16.4.2010 at 12:00 or be delivered to a post office or courier company within the same deadline.
