New custody centre for Gloucestershire Police Authority

[Tenders must also be received by 21 November 2011] Gloucestershire Police Authority is on the hunt for architects to design a 50-cell custody centre in Waterwells, Gloucestershire

Planned to be housed next to the existing police headquarters completed by McBains Cooper architects in 2005, the new custody centre is intended to meet the service’s current and future needs.

While meeting Home Office Building Design guidelines, the 50-cell centre is also expected to help the Gloucestershire Police Authority with the delivery of a new policing plan.

There will be a two-stage approach to the new build project and the 48-month contract also calls for quantity surveyors among other professionals.
