Metro Station 20 design contest, Sofia

[Registration must be completed by 9 December 2011] The city of Sofia in Bulgaria has launched a competition seeking preliminary designs for a new metro station

Proposals should include street-level public realm and access as well as the station itself. Designs must also meet the requirements of the city’s underground rail system.

A design commission will be awarded to the winning entrant with £8,750 split between the top three schemes.

The station is final phase in a subway project connecting the city centre with an airport and the central stations. Construction of the winning proposal will take place through 2014 and into 2015.
