Hunt begins for Peter Pan Moat Brae restoration design team
[Requests to participate to be received before 4 March] The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust in Dumfries seeks to appoint an architect-led multidisciplinary team for redevelopment and new build works
The Moat Brae garden, designed in 1823 by the architect Walter Newall, inspired JM Barrie to write Peter Pan.
Design teams are sought for the restoration work inside both house and surrounding garden while designing a ‘modern extension’ to the house’s west.
The extension is planned to house support services alongside a bookshop and cafe facilities with works anticipated to start on site in 2014 with a total budget of £3.5 million.
Divided into two phases, restoration works begun in 2011 are expected to continue through 2013.
Documents must be accessed by 25 February
