Horniman Museum launches contest for gallery redevelopment
London’s Horniman Museum & Gardens in London is on the hunt for architects to help redevelop three existing galleries
The 700m² project, which will see some spaces ‘repurposed’ and will reintroduce daylight into an area covered by a barrel vault-roof, has a budget of £520,000.
Focused on the anthropology gallery, the works are part of a £2.5 million overhaul of two floors within the museum in Forest Hill, south London.
Designs are sought to RIBA Stage D with services to be extended to project completion if a further lottery application succeeds.
Completed PQQs are due by 8 April with more detail available from the specific page. Teams will be invited to participate in the next stage on 11 April.
