Hatton Gallery refurbishment, Newcastle

[Expressions of interest must be received by 17 October 2011] The University of Newcastle is calling for architectural design services for the refurbishment of the Hatton Gallery on its campus

A permanent home to 3,500 pieces, the gallery is situated within the King Edward VII Fine art building and recently became a part of the Great North Museum in a £26 million move.

Services are now sought for the gallery’s refurbishment to RIBA stage C, with an extension to RIBA stage M expected when funds become available.

Architects are expected to work as team leader and co-ordinate with the selected contractor should the project reach RIBA stage M.

The contract is due to start 30 November 2011 and conclude 31 May 2012, with the possibility of extending for a maximum of 12 months if required.
