Falkirk seeks masterplan and developer for Grangemouth Town Centre

[Request to participate must be completed by 2 September] Falkirk Council is seeking developer-led bids for the regeneration of Grangemouth Town Centre

The project is part of a ten year regeneration programme for the area which aims to provide a ‘renewed shopping environment’ and boost local economic growth.

Key projects will include a civic office, library, museum, civic space, pubilc realm and 7,000m² of commerical space.

The design, construction and financing of improvements to the town centre have an initial construction budget of £22,000,000 however this cost is dependent on the winning bidder’s masterplan proposal.

Any projects will be subject to extensive community consultation, according to the tender, and are due to commence in December 2013. Contracts are expected to end in 2019.

Grangemouth overlooks the Firth of Forth and is home to the second oldest oil refinery in the UK.
