Kingston University, Oldham’s library revamp and a teaching facility for the University of Gloucestershire. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The RIBA has launched a competition to design a ‘welcoming gateway’ for Kingston University in London. An ‘inclusive, contemporary and civic’ design is sought for the Town House Building, which also features teaching space and an auditorium, on the Penrhyn Road campus. Five shortlisted teams will each receive a £6,000 honorarium [PQQs to be returned by 24 June]

Oldham Council is seeking an architect to transform its Victorian library into a new theatre and heritage centre. The project, situated in Oldham’s ‘cultural quarter’ is being pursued in collaboration with the town’s Coliseum Theatre [Requests to participate are duebefore 24 June]

The University of Gloucestershire is on the hunt for architectural services to deliver a 3,500m² new-build teaching facility in Cheltenham. Catering for international students, the conservation area project will replace the Park Campus’s Owen building [Fee proposals due by 24 June]
