Last chance to enter the competition for two new galleries at London’s Science Museum and the 2011 RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship; the editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions
The Science Museum is seeking design consultants to develop two gallery projects: Making Modern Science and Making Modern Communications. The project will be divided into two lots: a separate creative team for each gallery. Work in each gallery will require 3D design, 2D graphic design, interactives, as well as lighting and acoustic design. The time limit for receipt of tenders is 9 December.
The 2011 RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship has been launched and is now inviting applications from RIBA-accredited schools. A £6,000 grant will be awarded by a panel of judges – including Lord Foster and Angela Brady, President of the RIBA – to one student. The grant is intended to fund international research on a topic related to the survival of our towns and cities, in a location of the student’s choice. The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2011.
