The University of Wales, Trinity St David is on the hunt for a masterplanner for a major overhaul of its property portfolio. The winning team will rationalise the newly formed university’s existing Lampeter, Carmarthen and Swansea campuses and design a new 4.5 hectare campus within the Swansea Docks regeneration zone [Deadline for requests to participate 2 June]

An international competition has been launched to regenerate Russia’s Voronezh Reservoir. Created in 1972, the sea has now been declared unfit for swimming due to pollution. Submissions must transform the reservoir into a new urban resource. Two competitions – one for ideas and the other professional – will run in parallel [Deadline for registration 14 June]

AECOM has launched its 2014 Urban SOS student competition featuring a prize fund of £9,000. Open to undergraduate and graduate students worldwide, the high-profile competition is themed ‘Towards a New Industry’ and seeks economically viable concepts to transform abandoned factories [Deadline for registration is 1 June]
