Competitions: Editor's Pick, 22.11.12

Edinburgh University’s Old College, an Essex housing framework and a new Cambridge primary school. The Editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The University of Edinburgh is on the hunt for an architect-led design team for the £20 million refurbishment of Old College (pictured), the home of its School of Law. The Robert Adam-designed building was only completed in 183, nearly forty years after the architects’ death. Works are expected to start on site January 2015 [PQQs to be returned by 14 December]

The Chelmer Housing Partnership is seeking architects for a £1.6 million, four-year framework agreement. The charitable housing association currently owns and operates 8,500 homes and apartments across Essex. Employer’s agent services with and without CDM services are also sought in a separate lot. [PQQs are due by 10 December]

Cambridgeshire County Council is on the lookout for an architect for a new primary school. Part of the council’s North West Cambridge Development programme, the 400-student school will be on a 3 hectare site and is planned to open in September 2015. Full architectural and landscaping design services from RIBA stage A to L are called for with works to begin March 2013. Full occupation is planned to commence in September 2018 [Request to participate to be returned by 17 December]
