Canada House in London, Stornoway Port and Leicester Food Park. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The Canadian Government is on the hunt for a design team for the £10.3 million revamp of Canada House in Trafalgar Square, London. The Robert Smirke-designed landmark - along with its neighbour, 2-4 Cockspur Street - is set to be transformed into a new 5,000m² home for the Canadian High Commission, planned to open in 2014 [Competition closes 23 April]

Stornoway Port Authority is seeking a design team to masterplan the infrastructure for a new ‘roll on, roll off’ ferry on the Isle of Lewis. The contract - which includes detailed design - is estimated to be worth 10 per cent of the £30 million project. Services required include architecture and civil, structural and marine engineering [Requests to participate 11 April]

Leicester City Council is looking for an architect to design catering outlets for its new Leicester Food Park. The winning team will develop the project from RIBA stage C under a design and build contract with Willmott Dixon [Competition deadline 2 April]
