The Garden Museum, South Shields community hub and Coventry retirement villages. The Editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The Garden Museum in London is on the hunt for an architect-led design team for an expansion project. Planned works include restorating the museum inside the church and churchyard of St Mary’s at Lambeth and extending its exhibition space. The contract has an estimated value of £420,000 with its completion expected in early 2016 [Requests to participate to be received by 20 January 2013]

South Tyneside Council is seeking an architect for a new community hub. The 5,000m² hub building will have between three and four floors and is planned to inlcude a library, council services, commercial spaces and a theatre area. The £900,000 contract is due to complete within two years [Requests to participate to be returned by 7 January 2013]

Coventry’s ExtraCare Charitable Trust is seeking architects for a £8.5 million framework. Architectural services are sought to deliver six retirement villages around Coventry and within the central Midlands. Experience in ‘affordable housing’ is essential for selection [Requests to participate to be received by 18 January]
