Somers Town regeneration, the 2014 Boyd Auger scholarship and British Council international development funding. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Camden Council is seeking architect-led teams for the £40 million redesign of Somers Town (pictured). Winning architects will work up designs for three lots: an £18.4 million housing development and new-build school, £8.5 million private housing project and a £3.8 million community hub. A fourth lot covers masterplanning. [Responses due 9 March]

The 2014 RIBA Boyd Auger Scholarship – supporting ‘imaginative and original research’ – is now open. The winning student will receive £5,000 for academic development and travel costs over a six to 12-month period. Applicants must be enrolled on an RIBA part 1, 2 or 3 course and may enter as teams. [Applications due by 2 June]

The British Council and Arts Council England have invited architects to apply for international development funding. Successful applicants will receive between £1,000 and £5,000 to travel, explore and collaborate internationally while carrying out professional projects. [Deadline 9 May]
