Design the new International Olympic Committee HQ, a six storey block for Sligo Hospital and a £25 million school in Surrey. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions.

[Submissions must be received by 15 May] The International Olympic Committee is now accepting submissions internationally for the design of their new headquarters in Switzerland. The 18,000m² facility will house 450 staff accommodating the IOC’s administration services on a 24,000m² plot beside Lake Geneva.  A two stage contest, applicants will be chosen to compete based on their first round submissions, a shortlist will be chosen in June. Each practice chosen will receive £21,000 to support their scheme’s development for the ‘Olympic Campus’.

[Tenders to be returned before 10 May] Architectural design services are called for to design a new surgical block at Sligo Regional Hospital in Ireland. The 25,000m², six-storey new-build facility will accommodate a new emergency department and a number of other wards. Structural engineers, quantity surveyors, and project managers are also sought for the 54 month contract.

[Requests to participate are due 5 June] Design teams are required to deliver a £25 mllion block for the Rydens Enterprise School in Surrey. The 1,500 pupil school will sit within an existing masterplan on a plot currently used as playing fields. Due to take students in September 2016, other consultants required for the works include structural and mechanical engineers.
